Full Translation
I simply translate all the text you send me.

Selective Translation
Only the most important parts of your text are translated. Either you or (if you wish) I can make the selection.
This is often helpful to save a lot of money by just focusing on the gist of your content.

Summary Translation
Not a normal word-for-word translation, but a summary in Italian of your English text.
This can also save money and time compared to a full translation. Not every text and situation is suitable for this option.

Confidentiality

I am the only person who reads your texts and replies to your
e-mails.
This is to ensure maximum privacy and consistency.
I have no collaborators and I don’t subcontract work.

When not in use, your files are encrypted on my computer.
PGP and AES-256-bit encryption for online security are available for you.

Why did
an engineer
choose to become
a translator?

First of all,
languages have always been a passion of mine.
This directly affects and improves the end product.

Second, my personality is in tune with translation work.

The third thing is that there are a lot of similarities between the two roles. For example, when working with words, precision and details play just as important a role as when working with numbers!

Last, but certainly not least, clients will benefit from both my engineering and linguistic backgrounds for technical work.

In addition to my technical training, I also have combined theoretical linguistics training, founded on the teachings of such qualified authors as Bruno Osimo, Federica Scarpa, Christopher Taylor, and Luca Lovisolo.

Sectoral knowledge is essential

Completing a technical translation solely using a technical dictionary might suffice for straightforward, day-to-day subjects. However, it’s simply not enough with more niche or difficult topics.
Many times, it’s crucial to fully understand the subject to translate it accurately. Incidentally, it is precisely for this reason that I do not translate medical, literary, or financial texts.

Languages

I only translate into Italian (not Italian into English) to guarantee the high quality of translations. Translating into a foreign language is not impossible, nor does it necessarily lead to poor results, but in general it is inadvisable for various reasons.
